Fife Cup Competitions

There have been many Cup competitions played for in Fife Junior football. The origins of these sometimes become masked by the names of sponsors, who put money into the competition. However, these sponsors contributions are usually only temporary and sometimes the names of the competition reverts to their original form.
Fife football was split up into several associations at its beginning, and all of these associations had their own competitions. eg one of the first competitions was the Kirkcaldy Cup, which was played for by sides associated with the Kirkcaldy association. This trophy is now played for as the Fife Cup.
Another venerable trophy is the Cowdenbeath Cup. This was played for, as previously, by teams belonging to the Cowdenbeath Association. This association at one time stretched into Clackmannanshire as well, including such as Vale of Forth (Alloa), Clackmannan, and an early Sauchie team.
Other trophies not so fortunate were those played for by teams from the East Neuk, eg Janetta Cup, Davidson Cup, et alia. These have not been played for by the Juniors since the East Neuk Association itself disappeared in the early 1920s.

Here is a list, though not exhaustive, of the Cup competitions played for by Fife teams:
